Outer Banks Long Term Rental Home Cleaning Tips
Some of the dirtiest items in your house might not be what you think. Besides just dirt and grime, germs can also build up in places besides your kitchen, bathroom, and other living areas. Here are a few of the places in your house that you may want to consider to help keep your home clean and sanitized:
• Computer or laptop keyboard can host all kinds of germs. Just wet an old toothbrush with rubbing alcohol and wipe the keyboard to remove the dirt and grime.
• Clean your washing machine by running it through a cycle with hot water and vinegar or cleaning tablets that you can purchase at the store.
• Place your dish sponges in the dishwasher when washing dishes and run through the “heat dry” setting to kill germs and odors.
• Clean the dust off the refrigerator coils with dust buster or small vacuum cleaner. This will help your refrigerator run more efficiently as it will not be straining to pull in air through blocked coils.
• Clean your vacuum cleaner filters by running them through the dishwasher or purchase a replacement filter. These filters catch dust and allergens.
• Consider cleaning the Heating and Air Conditioning vents with a damp cloth by using a butter knife to run through the slots.
• Wipe down doorknobs and door jambs with a disinfectant cloth.
• To clean your TV remote, just wet a toothbrush with rubbing alcohol to clean out the dirt and dust that gets stuck between the buttons.
• Wipe down your ceiling fan blades with an extended microfiber duster or just use an old pillow case to run over the blade by inserting it and the dust stays inside the old pillow case.
• Use your outside house to spray inside of your kitchen or outdoor trash can by laying it on its side and spray it inside with cleaner/disinfectant or soap and then spray it out with water and dry.
