Our office is staffed by all licensed individuals. The Owners of our firm, Romona Tice and Tina Tice (sisters) are both North Carolina Real Estate Brokers with a combined 65+ years of experience. Each of them has managed homes that rent on a long-term basis (12 months or more lease) and very are familiar with North Carolina General Statutes, Chapter 42 which is the Landlord Tenant Act as well as the laws and rules of the NC Real Estate Commission.
We also have a North Carolina Insurance Agent on staff who can help our Tenants secure Renters Insurance and also help Home Owners understand their individual Home Owner policies. Each of our Property Owner’s has an online Portal where they can view documents pertaining to their rental (Leases, etc.) as well as monthly Owner statements and invoices. The Owner Portal can be accessed from your mobile device or you can view the full version on your home computer. The Owner Portal can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Some BIG differences between OBX Housing and other firms on the Outer Banks are: OBX Housing pays our Owners on the 10th day of each month. Our firm does not escrow a month’s rent like many other companies do.
OBX Housing does not charge our Owners a fee for filing legal actions on their behalf such as Summary Ejectment/Eviction or for obtaining a Writ of Possession. These fees are passed on to the Tenant and would either come out of the Tenant Security Deposit or go against the Tenant Judgement, not the Owner.
OBX Housing Property Owners have the option of being contacted for maintenance or we can secure an insured Vendor to perform work on your behalf with NO ADDITIONAL FEE attached for this service. OBX Housing updates and maintains all certificate of Workman’s Comp and General Liability for all Vendors we contract.
